Wildlife Thailand is a nonprofit community website for sharing information, photographs and experiences on Thailand's wildlife, bio-diversity and protected areas. Creating awareness of this wonderful world around us.

All of the articles on the site are submitted by the community as individual pieces. If you want to submit an article for inclusion in the site then contact us through the contact page or on the forum and we will give you an email address to submit to. You would need to send us a text file, plus any photographs prepared at 800 px longest side, plus video urls (if any). Alternatively you can just submit the article as a forum post. Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have.

Picture of the Month - Sun Bear (Helarctos malayanus)

This month's Picture of the Month award goes to Ton Smits for his amazing up close shot of a Malaysian Sun Bear (Helarctos malayanus) in the Khao Yai National Park. It is very rare to catch even a glimpse of Thailand's wild bears and Ton has not only suceeded in that but has also captured a stunning photograph with the bear beautifully framed in grassland. Thanks for the honour!
I actually thought Richard L Stokes should win this one with his amazing shots of a Leopard in Kaeng Krachan. Though December is approaching...

Haha thanks Ton, yours is a beautiful shot though, I love the way the blackness of the bear contrasts with the light green of the grasses..

Actually they BOTH won guys. They are both fantastic shots! Luke's won before but I did not put up an announcement as it was on the front page already. Sorry for the confusion :)
