The scent of prey - Dhole

afternoon

Another video sequence from the Dong Phayayen - Khao Yai Forest Complex. Scent plays a huge part in the life of both predators and prey - once you have smelt it the musty smell of wild boar is not easy to forget and plays

a huge part in the ability of predators to track down their potential food source. But the wild boar (sus scrofa) sounders (the name for a family grouping of females and young) are large in the world heritage site and this group size is part of their own survival strategy.
