Bird ID help Doi Ang Khang was created by jack2964
Back from a recent day trip to Ang Khang and need help with a couple of these I got.

I am not sure if the thrush is female Grey-sided or Eye-browed. The bird in the background is probably an immature male Black-breasted thrush.

For the raptor...I haven't a clue.

These pics were from the popular birders resort-Ban Luang Resort.

Thanks.

Thanks Bootly, if I may ask what distinguish marks separate Grey-sided from Eye-browed? I have read Robson's guide and still find it difficult to determine.

Grey sided, bolder white supercilium and more pronounced crescent below eye, greyer underparts becoming paler on belly, black upper bill, a yellowish lower bill
For Eye-browed breast and flanks are more orange, and the belly white , white stripe under bill
555 I am confusing myself now .... I am thinking these are 2 different birds, the 1st being Eye-bowed and the 2nd Grey-sided.. They are often found foraging together

Yeah, sorry, I think they could be different birds...the pics were taken at different times. Both times, the thrushes' appearance was preceded by a large noisy flock of Red-whiskered Bulbuls descending on this mound of food scraps tossed out by the kitchen staff at the resort.

There were up to 5 birds once making it hard to choose which to focus on.

Each time when bulbuls had their fill and moved off so did the thrushes.
