This topic is just as a repositry for common signs of animals that you will see in the forest. Such items as scat (excrement), marks, and tracks. Please feel free to add things as I am eager to learn more myself.

These surface scratchings are common on jungle tracks and are the scratchings of jungle fowl (and pheasants) : Pang Sida.

Marks left on tree from the climbing of a Malaysian Sun Bear. Its shows how incredibly sharp their claws must be.

Tiger foot print (this one is an Thap Lan National Park). After rain is the best time to see good prints but they generally disappear or erode during the precluding rain. This makes it quite easy to date tracks during the rainy season. This one had been made before the last rain.

Rangers at Tha Praya had a really cool large index card (I think from WWF) that displayed about 20 different animals tracks with size estimates in mm and a ruler along the side to measure. Love to get my hands on one of them
