Can anyone help me ID this Buprestidae beetle spotted today at Sri Phang-nga National Park today.

Strange - no idea. Am wondering if the yellow is not part of the beetle and its just got covered in something?? I don't know enough about them or their general life cycle to make a comment really. Maybe Les will drop by.

The Lantern Bug looks much like Pyrops karenius.

The yellow on the Buprestidae beetle, is powder, and shows that the specimen has only recently emerged. It disappears quickly once the beetle has flown any distance. Can not help with the id I'm afraid.
