I found this in Lat Pho Park, it's not the same as the typical park turtles.  Is it a Black Marsh Turtle?  About 35cm in length.

I honestly don't know but having looked in an ID book, I would think you could add Yellow-headed temple turtle (Heosemys annandalii) to the list of suspects.

Think you may be right.  I think also some of the images shown when I search Black Marsh Turtle are actually of the yellow headed temple turtle.

I've never before seen a live snake in central Bangkok area.  In the past it's always been golden tree snakes dead in the same spot outside my apartment which I think the house owner across the road is killing then throwing over her fence.  And pipe snakes run over on a road near a canal.  These have all been small, not more than 50cm.

So imagine my surprise on Onnut Road, 2 minutes walk from the BTS tracks and there is a 1 metre sunbeam snake (pretty sure) slithering towards me on the pavement.  A black snake on a dark pavement in the dark; I thought it was a shadow and nearly stepped on it.  They look like indochinese rat snakes but the iridescence gives them away.

Then today on Sukhumvit Road at the Phra Khanong junction, directly underneath the BTS, a dead copperhead racer ratsnake at the side of the road, nearly 1.5m length I'd say.  I moved it onto the pavement to scare the pedestrians

Very rare to see any snakes in the middle of the city.  When you get towards the outskirts I'm sure they're more common.

I used to have a daily walk schedule by the San Saeb canal, would see a snake or two regularly on the pathway or the trees above..
