This is a great video and completion of the "Tuluver phenomenon" story. A poignant and daring use of media and social media audience manipulation to put forward a very relevant message.

I just love the idea that a conservation organization is really pushing the boundaries of marketing, media and media manipulation to make people think.

Great concept, well done!
I saw the 'discovery message' on facebook. Do have to say that I was thinking: how lucky that for a first discovery they got such a perfectly lit image of a species hidden from our view for so long.
It is hard enough to get attention for the nearing extinction of charismatic species, so saving species that are not known well or don't look cute and cuddly will be forgotton.
We're loosing species that the world doesn't even know about. Like the Dhole. Surely the members on this forum know what they are, but I meet many wildlife enthusiast from around the world and often even they have never heard about it, let alone the rest of the world who don't travel to watch wildlife.
The total population is estimated to be lower than the wild tiger population. Not to mention that the latter has a very large number of captive individuals that exceed the numbers in the wild, a 'back-up' (not sure how useful that is, but anyway), so perhaps it could even be saved (for a while) when the wild ones go extinct. But for Dholes it will be end of story when the wild population is gone.
Sumatran Rhino will go extinct in our generation. Country by country it is being declared extinct, and now it's down to the last few in Indonesia.
And I don't know what to do about it.
An honourable mention, like these vultures now get. Is that the best I can do?
