Kaeng Krachan - Bang Krang campsite area incidence data

Whilst I don't normally give any data on locations other than the park concerned, in this case this mini survey was conducted within 3 kms of Bang Krang Campsite. I am sharing that piece of location information as I think the many campers who stay at this site may interested in exactly what may be in the forest where they are. No conclusions can be drawn from the data because the period reviewed and logged was a very very short period, but it does show some interesting animals living close to the camp and a very good bio-diversity.

I was surprised not to log data from elephants or gaur in the period as there is ample evidence on the roadway of their presence, both from feaces and residual odours.

wow, what amazing shots of those leopards. I will definitely be going to stay at baan krang after seeing this. I know its the proverbial needle in a haystack but for me the black leopard is the holy grail!
Was this from your own traps Paul?

Yep, back in 2010 before i understood that one needed permission first ;+)

The leopards are seen by visitors "often" just north of the camp site. Jonathan told me that they were seen just last month by birders on the road between KM 15 and 18.
