Did your login get deleted?

Every couple of days we go through the list of new members registered on the site and review them for potential spammers.

We see lots of spam registrations, especially from certain countries. Thankfully our anti-spam software catches 99% of spam posts before they are posted to the forum. This still leaves the bogus registrations to deal with though.

We look for certain traits in the registrations, so if your registration did get deleted just register again and be aware that you should avoid:

Emails, usernames and registration details that contain lots of numbers (e.g. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Email addresses that contain full stops (e.g. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
Email addresses with the extension .PL (most of our spam registration come from .PL domains so we delete them quite quickly)
Usernames that look to be generated by a machine (e.g. tfsxbu8h62)
Usernames that contain multiple mixed capitals (e.g. DrRNcowMF)

Our software also deletes registration details of people who register on the forum but never complete their registration process or never actually login for a first time. This is done automatically every 2 weeks.

Sincere apologies if you get zapped unfairly. Fighting spam is quite an undertaking for us and sometimes we are bound to make unfortunate errors.

If you do get zapped just register again with the same details - we will notice it and ensure you get priority approval.

Making your first post soon after registration will always ensure that you don't get zapped unfairly.

We have absolutely no issues with individuals from companies registering or being part of the community, indeed we love it that guiding companies are here and willing to share their knowledge and information. What we don't allow is commercial activity in any of the forums EXCEPT the Classifieds Forum/Find a Guide/Buddy. In the classified forum you can put whatever regarding business adverts, sales adverts, tours, whatever - we created this area so as to a) offer all commercial offers/needs posters an equitable playing field and b) ensure those who are not offering services have confidence in the advice they receive on the forum as not being link bait or commercial. So be thoughtful and if you want to advertise then use the Find a Guide/Buddy Forum and all will be happy.

If we do happen over commercial posts in the forums, we will move them to the classified area if possible.

Heres a lot of some of the other things that we do not allow in our fight against SPAM

Any email address that is from "o2.PL"or "yandex.ru" or "mail.ru"
Any IP address that is on one of our SPAM base lists (i.e. stopforumspam)
Any member with an obvious SPAM message gets an immediate ban
Any member that uses a false email address (system automatically blocks)
Any member who does not login at least once in the week after registration

Sometimes if you have problems you may have a browser cache issue.

As we are not able to replicate a cache problem on our end, you may need to force reload your browser cache.

How to “force reload” your browser to fix something.

Depending on your operating system all you need to do is the following key combination:

Windows: ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
Linux: F5
